This idyllic riverside inn dates back to the 1800s, when it was owned by the Christie family brewery and sold their Christy's Hoddesdon-brewed ales. Rich in history, its most famous landlord was the Reverend Samuel Thackery who was dismissed from his chaplaincy and took to inn keeping instead. These days you'll find it serving a great range of cask ales and a menu of freshly prepared food.
